Plagiarism Policy of the Journal
Global Trends in Science and Technology (GTST) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical publishing. All submitted manuscripts must be original and free from plagiarism.
Similarity Limit
The journal allows a maximum similarity index of 15%. Manuscripts exceeding this limit may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected, depending on the extent and nature of the overlap.
Additionally:
- Similarity from a single source should not exceed 5%
- Direct copying without proper citation is strictly prohibited
- Self-plagiarism (reuse of previously published work without citation) is not allowed
- Improper paraphrasing will be considered plagiarism
Screening Process
All submissions are checked using plagiarism detection software (Turnitin) during the initial editorial screening. The editorial office evaluates:
- Overall similarity percentage
- Source distribution
- Context of matched text
- Proper citation and quotation
Manuscripts failing to meet the journal’s originality requirements will be:
- Returned for revision, or
- Rejected before peer review
Post-Acceptance and Post-Publication
If plagiarism is identified after acceptance or publication, the journal may take appropriate actions, including:
- Requesting corrections
- Withdrawal of the manuscript
- Retraction of the published article
- Notification to authors' institutions
Author Responsibility
Authors must ensure that:
- The manuscript is entirely original
- All sources are properly cited
- Quoted text is clearly identified
- Permission is obtained where required
Authors should also include the statement:
“This manuscript is original and has not been submitted elsewhere. The similarity index is within the journal’s acceptable limit (≤15%).”
